Omar Mansoor brings to CANNOVA a rare and consequential combination of technical expertise, financial acumen and cross-regional leadership experience. With a professional background spanning development consulting, engineering, project management and structured finance, Omar has spent over a decade operating at the intersection of real estate development and capital markets across Canada, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Having managed key organisations in the UAE and KSA, Omar developed an acute understanding of GCC capital markets - specifically the investment preferences, risk appetite and Sharia-compliance requirements of institutional investors, sovereign wealth vehicles, family offices and high-net-worth individuals across the Gulf region. Simultaneously, his direct experience in Canadian real estate development gave him visibility into the structural financing gaps faced by developers and the chronic underservice of Muslim borrowers seeking interest-free mortgage solutions.
It was this dual perspective - rooted in both regions - that led Omar to identify a compelling and largely unaddressed opportunity: GCC capital was available and seeking geographically diversified, asset-backed, stable-yield investments; Canadian developers and individual borrowers were actively seeking exactly the type of equity, debt and mortgage solutions that GCC capital could provide. No integrated, regulated and transparent platform existed to connect the two. CANNOVA was his answer.
Omar's specific focus in establishing CANNOVA was to create a regulated, trust-protected mechanism through which GCC equity and debt capital could flow into the Canadian real estate market - via an independent Lawyer Trust Account and a fully regulated Mortgage Investment Corporation - with all the governance, transparency and legal protection required to satisfy both sophisticated international investors and the standards of Canadian financial regulation.
